I teach classical flute. I have been teaching flute privately for over 20 years, out of my home in Scottsdale and online. In that time, I have helped students win competitions and auditions as well as hosted numerous recitals for my students to showcase their progress. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Find out the student interests and goals. Get familiar with learning style-whether visual, auditory, kinesthetic. Work on goal setting and give writing and listening assignments throughout their experience to enhance what is studied.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taken flute lessons myself since elementary school. I studied flute in college at James Madison University, renowned for its music department. I have played with many local symphonies and flute choirs.
