FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

The first step is to discover the range of knowledge of the new student about the subject of painting. A new to painting student will need to learn how to mix colors and apply the paint to a surface like wood or canvas. This will include learning about color theory, learning about mixing colors, subject composition, the use of Lighting and shadows, Drawing with Dimensioning and depth of field. In 30 years of teaching, I find that many new students have saved up the desire to express themselves which shows up in their early creations.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I studied Art at Arizona State University as a 4.0 student, with many teachers and I studied with The Master, Edgardo Garcia for four years. The Master Garcia won four Grumbacher awards for "Best Artist in the United States" After 20 years of learning, I perfected my craft in Hawaii owning and operating several Art Galleries where my Artwork was Published many times in magazines and Limited edition Lithograph series and distributed worldwide.
