I have had a passion for photography since the 80s, learning and shooting on film cameras for years and working with mentors to polish and hone my technique and style. As a hobby, my photographic interests have spanned the genres from lansdscape, wildlife, macro, street, travel, and lifestyle portrait photography. As a professional, I focus on family, couples, seniors, and event photography. All through my experience with photography I have served as a mentor and friend to many to teach them the world of photography.
Whether you need help with the basics of camera operation, composition, natural and artificial lighting, but most importantly, mastering the concepts of exposure and how to achieve the results your mind imagines, I can help.
I am open to one-on-one mentoring, or small group photography sessions to work on specific aspects of photography.

As a photography teacher, I love sharing my passion and experience with others to give them the tools and confidence they need to use their cameras and capture their subjects the way they see them. I really enjoy working with people and overcoming the subtle nuances that may have been holding them back, and then watching them unleash their own creativity with their new freedom with photography!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We will start with an introductory chat to understand where you are at and what your goals are. We will make a customized plan that meets your goals, and negotiate a fair and reasonable rate to accomplish those goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Over the years I have taken several workshops with world class instructors in photogaphy, but my real experience in the field, shooting hundred of thousands of photos, sitting with friends and other mentors listening to and learning from constructive criticism of one's photography is priceless.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing will depend on where you are at with your photography and what you would like to accomplish. From simple "out of the box" get me up to speed with my new camera, one-on-one mentor sessions, to group shoot and critique sessions, to working with me as a photography assistant or second shooter for experience.
