Jonny is originally from San Leandro, California. He played first base and outfield at Shasta Community College in Redding, CA and Pima Community College in Tucson, AZ until an injury took him out of the game. Jonny has over 10 years of experience teaching baseball and softball lessons full time. Jonny also coached club and high school teams throughout Arizona, including a state championship team for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy 2A baseball in 2009. Jonny earned his B.S. from ASU in Kinesiology to further his knowledge of body mechanics. He focused his studies on the proper biomechanical movements of the hitting and pitching motions. Jonny is a NSCA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). He also has experience with injury prevention and rehabilitation after working at a physical therapy clinic. Jonny teaches hitting lessons (baseball and softball) and pitching lessons for baseball. Jonny founded Challenge: Baseball + Softball Performance in 2013 to provide baseball and softball training that is based on scientific research. By utilizing the body’s natural movements, instructors maximize performance while minimizing the risk of injury. Programs train the whole player including skills, strength & conditioning, mental preparation, and more. All training is customized to the individual player through comprehensive assessments and progress monitoring to take each athlete to the highest level possible.
