About this pro

NOTE:  Due to Covid-19 All lessons will be through Zoom or Google Video until further notice.

* I love to paint and be creative.  I am passionate about oils but I do like to paint with acrylics or sometimes water colors
I like to have fun and listen to non-vocal music such as Chopin,  DeBussy or piano while I paint.
As a teacher, I like people to understand what they are doing at a higher level than just putting paint on the canvases, or sketching on a paper, there is a lot more logic to this and if someone understands this, it helps them create a wonderful piece they'll enjoy for many years!

When I paint I feel that I can express myself to show what I love to do and care about.  I care about the environemnt so I paint a lot of plants and trees sometimes I paint wildlife as well.
I will do occasional commissioned work

Deborah's great, she is fun and she takes the time to show you exactly how to achieve something you struggle to do. She is very patient and my husband is also impressed how she helped me do drawings of my grand-chidren.

Deborah helped my 2 children with entering an exhibit at Pima County Fair, she treated them like adults and they both won in their age groups First Place Awards. we were amazed how well Deborah did with them. they fell in love with her and we have remained friends since hiring her.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

First of all, we find out what age I'm working with, I will work with children 10 years and older to adults. Please be specific which medium ( acrylic, oils, pencil or water colors) does the student preferred to work with, acrylic or oils.  I am not a water color painter but can refer students to someone I know is an excellent water color artist.
What is it the student wants to paint?
plagiarism is not encouraged.  Be creative from their own resources.
How long do they want to spend doing this?
Depending on what the student wants, it could take one hour over a few days (weeks) scheduled time or much longer. Each individual has different needs.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a Fine Arts and Liberal Arts Degree
I started out as a child painting and drawing and led to my life today as a professional International artist.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

My rates are based on a 1 hour by using Zoom
Time in front of a computer is not as personal as in person, but staying safe is very important
Fee is $20 / hour payable via PayPal plus a $3.00 PayPal fee.

BE SAFE!

How did you get started teaching?

People like what I do, and they want to create something for themselves, so I started three (3) hour sessions, and students often didn't need more than 3 days of 3 hour sessions depending on how large or intriquite the painting is.
it's nice to see someones face when they realize they painted a masterpiece!

What types of students have you worked with?

From ages 10 to as old as 76

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

My art was at the Vatican Halls in Rome, Italy and it went on tour (still there) for more exhibits.
Also, my art was in the Mexican Consulate in Tucson, Arizona and also at the Tucson Airport

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

* Know what you want to paint
* What type of medium you want to paint with.
example:  oils on canvas, acrylic on canvas, pencil on paper
* Students MUST supply their own art supplies (paint / canvas)
* Be willing to take instructions with an open mind

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

* What is your subject you wish to paint?
* What size do you want to paint?
* How much dedicated time do you have?
* Are you set up on PayPal to pay instructor?
* Do you have experience with any art methods?
* What do you expect from the teacher?
