About
I am an excellent Art Teacher, listening to the wants of my students. I help them reach their goals by teaching them in their own style, and with their own vision.
I have a BFA and an MFA Degree, with six more years of study at The Art Students League of NY, in classssical drawing and painting, intensive figure drawing, composition and color, and abstraction.
I have taught for over thirty years, watercolor painting, acrylic and oil painting, drawing and life drawing.
I can teach in either your home, or, in my studio in n downtown Tucson. I AM CURRENTLY TEACHING PRIVATE STUDENTS ONLY, I offer NO GROUP Lessons in my Studio.
I love seeing people learn to be able to do the things they had never thought that they could!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically start off working with new students by listening to their desires for learning. In Art, there is always time to insert mandatory lessons into the more immediately gratifying things that bring students to learn in the first place. If a student deeply desires to paint like an Impressionist, then that is where we start. After a painting or two it willl become obvious to the student that their painting is in some way limited by a lack of classical learning, so, we then insert drawing lessons into their weekly curriculum. To just start off with basics might be great for other students, who can derive satisfaction from that type of learning. It’s got to be fun. There is no reason to do it if it is not fun!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been teaching for forty years, on a College , High School, Recreational and Private Student level. I have a BFA, MFA, and six years figure and life drawing education.
