Mandar enjoys teaching art to students at all levels of skill. NO EXPERIRNCE NECESSARY. He helps you to connect with your own creative spirit in a fun and relaxed way. His class always starts with a live demo/ illustration followed by individualized instruction. Mandar is an award winning artist who loves to paint vibrant landscapes scenes of the SF Bay area in the medium of soft pastels.

Mandar recognizes the important role art plays in creating physical, emotional and spiritual healing and strives to share the experience with everyone through his art lessons.

    Mandar is an amazing artist and he’s equally as wonderful with kids. This is our second year in painting class with Mandar and my two 7 year olds love it! Besides teaching them skills, Mandar always comes up with creative and engaging projects. My boys have come home with many new pieces of art they are very proud of (and are frame worthy at home too).     I love taking art classes at Mandar Fine Art.  He begins his class with an art demonstration giving students directions and suggestions on how to create art from the first step of a stroke of a pencil to creating a beautiful image filled will colors of life and emotions.  He is available during the entire class and collaborates with students in achieving their vision.  He has a great energy where I feel relaxed, open, and inspired in my  creative process.  By the end of the class, I have created a beautiful picture and I walk away pleased with 100% satisfaction.  He is an excellent art teacher!

    There are times when you look and say wow that is talent! Then there are times when you say wow mastery!!!
    Mandar artistically captures the natural beauty in his artworks so masterfully.
    Not only that he recently offers youth clay and painting classes via AEF. And I’m happy at times he will host his small classes in his home studio.
    What a little gem he is for Alameda and Alameda artists of all ages! Not only I feel this way but my lil one loves in home studio small group settings as well

    Mandar is a very patient teacher, always supportive but showing you ways to improve what you are doing. I had never done Pastels until I came to his class. I am very much a beginner but am getting better thanks to Mandar. It is so inspiring to see him do a demonstration either in acrylic or pastel. Just with the slightest movement of his hand, he creates amazing effects. I would definitely recommend taking a class and learning about his way of looking at composition, color values and underpainting.

    Once again I am blown away by the best pastel inspiration I know, Mandar Wagholikar! Our Pastel class yesterday was fun and fantastic. I so enjoy pastels and having Mandar as instructor is an incredible experience. His attentiveness to each participant and individual suggestions were extremely helpful!     Mandar has been creating art all his life and loves rendering paintings in an energetic and vibrant style that's very much his own.

    Mandar’s art was featured in two recent publications, Alameda Magazine and Alameda Architectural Preservation Society’s Quarterly publication. He was also the winner for the People’s Choice award at the 2017 Plein Air Paint Out event in Alameda that was participated by forty accomplished artists from all over the country.

    Mandar worked in the fast paced world of financial services for 12 years before returning to his first passion of painting. He brings 16 years of professional experience and holds an MBA and bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

    He currently conducts workshops at the Frank Bette Center for the Arts in Alameda, CA.
