Hello students,
I am a full-time musician, singer and songwriter. I perform a variety of styles, Pop, Jazz and Mariachi just to name a few. I have over 15 years of performing experience. I have performed in bands all over Southern California and Mexico.
I offer lessons on a wide range of instruments to students of all ages, styles and skill levels. My teaching approach is individualized, comprehensive and fun! A typical session will involve technique, theory, and a song project - build your skills, while playing the music you love!
I enjoy sharing my musical knowledge and experience with students. I am very proud when I see students making progress and I love when they continue music at a professional level. I feel very fortunate that I get to create music everyday and I love love love my job!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I evaluate each student's musical level and adjust the lesson to fit their own unique learning style.
For my vocal students I like to do effective vocal exercises. Using a wide range of vocal exercises we will warm up and stretch your voice to prepare for training and performance.
For my guitar students, I teach you the fundamental skills you need to learn the songs you love. Beginner classes cover the basics of guitar, such as tuning, chords, strumming, tablature, basic exercises for perfecting chords, and learning easy songs.
I teach Pop, Jazz and Mariachi for Vocal, Guitar, Vihuela and Ukulele students.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in Music Performance and I am currently in the Jazz Studies Program at CSULA. I am a three-time Orange County Music Award winner taking home honors for Best Latin and Best Jazz. My music has received airplay on KKJZ, KSBR and KPFK radio. I have been interviewed and featured in the pages of the OC Weekly, Orange County Register and La Opinión just to name a few. How did you get started teaching?
I have been teaching for almost 10 years. I started teaching right out of school. I enjoy sharing my musical knowledge with others and take great pride in my teaching methods that have helped a lot of my music student's advance to higher levels of education.
