About
I love when a student grows up with me and they practice every week for years, and you get to see their progress. It's a very rewarding experience. I have three students who have been with me for over 30 years. This my full-time career and I am one of the only teachers in the area who can teach, popular music arranging, songwriting, and Jazz as well as classical and I participate in the Certificate of Merit program and take 14 to 16 students per year.
I really enjoy a talented student who is ready to progress and who practices every week. Then we get to both take the journey together.
Daryl Trinh-student review
This is for Mr. Larry Evans, the piano instructor.I'm an adult piano student here and I started here about a year ago, March 2014. Larry is the only piano teacher I've ever had but I can't imagine learning from another instructor. He's extremely friendly, attentive, and patient with his students, but he also don't candy coat everything so I can count on Larry for honest constructive but respectful feedback. Although Larry is open to working with me on specific pieces, his teaching style is progressive and diverse; I'm learning simple pieces as well as theory and finger techniques. As you would expect, he's a very talented performer so it's great to see your instructor in action because it's very encouraging. Most importantly, I feel that he genuinely cares about my musical development. Additionally, Larry specializes in teaching children. Don't hesitate to give him a call; he offers great value for your time and investment!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I hear them play if they have played before, and customize the lesson to them. I use materials and set goals according to the style they want to study. I then choose the best books for technique, theory, a method book, and repertoire.
I stay positive and make it a creative experience so I can keep their interest. We create the journey together.
