Nic Basketball Lessons.
About
I have over 15 years of basketball knowledge. I played college basketball at a NAIA D1 for 3 years. I have been an student assistant coach at the women's division 2 level for 2 years and have been around the program for 4-5 years. My strongest skill has always been handling the ball. With a great understanding of ambidexterity, court vision, compound moves, and footwork, I can have you/your child running circles around the competition!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first session or two, I like to figured out what my student wants to achieve, I like to communicate a plan and develop a path to get there. I like to break down the game, I never think its too early to start analyzing and dissecting the game. However, its very important not to suck the fun out of basketball, thats why we all fall in love with the game in the first place.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Ive taken some online courses on player development. Not every player learns the same so its important to figure out what works for who. Ive also learned through being a player myself, and being a student of the game. I think the best way to learn is to apply yourself and simply just do it.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I think a simple flat hourly rate is the best way.
How did you get started teaching?
I got into teaching very randomly, I was at the gym and saw a Freshman in high school with a ton of potential shooting with his dad. Ive seen the kid a few times before at the gym and weve had small interactions. Took the opportunity that his dad was there that day and expressed the fact that i thought his kid, Nate, could be a really good basketball player. We exchanged information and I trained Nate for a little over a year and he went on to become a Varsity player the following year.
What types of students have you worked with?
From the ages of 5-24
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Seeing Nate start on his high school varsity team. Im also very excited to watch Nates last season as a high school senior.
I try to go and watch the players that i train at their live games if permitted. I love to watch when they apply the things we work on.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
There are many coaches out there, many personal trainers, many skills coaches, and shooting coaches. If you want to elevate your game, listen to your coach. weve been doing this for some time and we have knowledge that we have learned trough years of experience.
Its also ok to hire another coach or switch trainers if you feel like things arent working out. everyone has diffrent styles of learning and teaching and sometimes those may not align
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Any question is honestly a great question. If you feel like you are not getting a certain movement or drill just ask for a further breakdown, there are always progressions that we can do to help get the student to were we need to be.
