About
In her lessons, she motivates kids through inspiration and passion, among other things, and not through fear. Though she pushes for discipline in her students, Vivian also wishes for all of her students to have a positive overall experience with the instrument, and so her teaching style propels critical thinking in lessons so that in many areas where there is not one answer, students feel free to explore their own resolutions to bring out their own unique artist within themselves.
A long-time member of the MTAC/CM program, Vivian is well equipped and experienced in helping her students succeed in CM Exams every year!
Alongside CM state testing each year, Vivian also holds yearly recitals along with other performing opportunties such as community service performances. Vivian believes that it is so important for students to have opportunities to perform and practically use music as a therapeutic tool to help the community.
A Conservatory Graduate at the prestigious school of Cleveland Institute of Music earning a Bachelor's in Music for Violin Performance, Vivian Lee has performed all over the United States to recital halls in Europe including Trinity Hall at Cambridge Univeristy, UK, Alice Tully Hall in New York, and Harris Hall in Aspen, CO, among others. She has been in concert with world renowned artists including Noah Bendix Balgley, concert master of the Berlin Philharmonic, David Kim, concertmaster of Philadelphia, and Rohan Desilva, Itzhak Perlman's longtime pianist. She has since opened her own private studio to impart her 30+ years of violin playing. With over 10 years of teaching experience in violin, she have given lessons to beginners all the way through advanced levels.
Learning the violin is not an easy task, to say the least. For many beginners, the difficulties lie in aspects such as patience, self-acceptance, and preseverence. However, I truly believe that having a teacher who knows how to supportingly walk with students when they experience issues in these areas allows but for more positive overall experiences with the instrument, and creates a more natural motivation for success in the instrument. I love not only being able to see students be able to grow in these areas, but seeing students and parents being excited seeing their own growth when they learn with me; especially when I hear that these characteristics transcends into other areas of their life(which happens often!)

I have a bachelor's in violin and piano performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music, one of the best music conservatories in the world.

beginners from 5 year olds to 40 years old students to intermediate and advanced
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I would write down all questions to ask before you see me! Even questions that you might feel skeptical about, you should still ask. Since this is a relationship that we are building, I want you to feel comfortable enough to come to me about any of your musical questions!
