I have been dancing non consecutively for 27 years. I have studied and trained throughout my youth, in college, and post graduating. My training in ballet gave me the technique and vocabulary to easily pursue and study contempory, jazz, modern, and more. I have also been modeling for 12 years. Working independently and signed tp an agency. I have used my knowledge of body awareness and acting classes to create breathtaking images. I have been teaching dance since 1980 and have never had a student I couldn't teach. I love the challenge of figuring out the best teaching style for each student. I've worked with students who could not learn from other teachers, as well as students with physical and mental blocks to learning. I focus on the basics of connecting to a partner, leading and following skills, and how to find the beat if music is a challenge. I teach social dance, not competitive dance. Destiny Arts Center, founded in 1998 and based in Oakland, California, is dedicated to enriching the lives of local youth through performing and martial arts. They provide a multicultural learning environment where kids can develop self-esteem, artistic expression, and personal empowerment. They offer workshops focusing on violence prevention and movement arts to schools and wider community groups. Destiny Arts Center runs after-school, weekend, and summer programs, serving over 150 youth at the Center and another 450-500 through their Project DESTINY programs in over 20 schools.
