Olivia (LIV) - Graduated from Fine Art Painting and Drawing in 2012 at the Academy of Art University, San Francisco. She has been in group shows with Pacific Art League in Palo Alto, STUDIO Gallery in San Francisco, Garden Gallery in Half Moon Bay and Blank Gallery in Oslo. She also received a "Specialty Award" from the Academy of Art University and was featured in North Light Book's competition Strokes of Genius 5 : Best of Drawing / Composition, 2013.
John (CHIU) - John Chun Chiu Lee started working at Pixar Animation Studios in 2006 as an animator on “Ratatouille.” Since then he has animated on many award-winning feature films including “WALL-E,” “Up,” “Toy Story 3,” “Brave,” “Monster’s University,” “The Good Dinosaur,” “Inside Out,” “Finding Dory,” and most recently “Coco.” He was nominated for Outstanding Animation in a Feature Film for his work on “Monsters University” and “CoCo”.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I usually ask for some images of students work so I can have an understanding what kind of help the student need.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in Architecture from Ryerson University and Fine Art Painting and Drawing degree from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco. I have been in group shows with Pacific Art League in Palo Alto, STUDIO Gallery in San Francisco, Garden Gallery in Half Moon Bay and Blank Space Gallery in Oslo. I also received a "Specialty Award" from the Academy of Art University and was featured in North Light Book's competition Strokes of Genius 5 : Best of Drawing / Composition, 2013. I've taught art in various elementry schools in Oakland, Berkeley, San Jose and Vellejo.

Depends on what you are looking for, semi private to private price starts at $75 per 2 hour lesson up to $100 per 2 hour lesson.
How did you get started teaching?
I started volunteering at nursing home, teaching elders to draw/paint.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you research and understand what type of work your teacher does. Don't neglect the foundamentals.
