Olivia’s studio is an oasis. I had been looking for a good figure drawing studio for a while. It was the first time I’d ever done a long pose. It put a 180-degree spin on the way I draw, on the way I look at things.
Olivia is an incredible artist in her own right, easy to talk to, and very gracious and supportive with her feedback. She’s growing quite an offering at the studio space, with a unique variety of master classes and diverse artists. She’s constantly adding onto to what she offers and all at very reasonable prices. It’s a gem.

Olivia was dedicated to teaching our teen fundamentals of drawing - kind, engaged, talented and supportive! Our daughter is a self-taught artist and wanted the basics and portrait drawing as a foundation - Olivia met her where she was at, gave great feedback and created a welcoming warm space to learn.

I took painting lessons from Olivia Chen at Liv and Chiu studio for six months when I retired. She is an absolutely amazing teacher, very patient, thoughtful, and prepared. She started by teaching me the basics of representational painting by building my skills with a minimum of frustration. Then she helped take my skills far beyond anything I could have imagined. I am so grateful to her for opening up a whole new world of creativity and making painting fun while teaching the techniques of the artists I’ve long admired. Besides the painting classes with Olivia, I have also taken two workshops at Liv and Chiu studio and I’m signed up for another worksop in the fall. The teachers they have are very high caliber, wonderful professional artists as well as really good teachers. They were very valuable experiences and I learned a lot in just a few days. I will definitely continue to supplement my art education with workshops at Liv and Chiu studio. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Senah loved every class (private lesson with Olivia, demo reel class with John, storytelling figure drawing workshop with Terry) and looks forward to next lesson. She absolutely loved all her teachers and all the positive encouragement she received from her teachers. It has been a great experience for her! Thank you so much!

As a mom of a creative child, I was blown away by the studios level of teaching and thoughtfulness toward children. My daughter was excited to go to class everyday. She was inspired by the teachers and students and really blossomed in her drawing, storytelling and sketching abilities. The teachers at Liv & Chiu are really warm and passionate about what they do. My daughter had a such a wonderful experience that were going back for another class in the Fall.
