About
As a bass teacher, I’ve taught students of all ability levels throughout the Los Angeles area. I’ve incorporated the approaches of Jerry Bergonzi, Eddie Tomassi, and Gary Willis’s fingerboard harmony and combined them with 20 years of teaching basic, intermediate, and advanced electric bass technique, intermediate and advanced music theory, jazz harmony, harmonic considerations for improv, and chart/sight reading to hone in on what a student really needs to become a better bass player and a better musician.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I have to hear the student play to understand where they are in their playing. Also we talk in detail to establish where they want to take their own playing and create a practice/performing/ plan to achieve their musical goals.
With Beginning students we go from the very start of how to hold the bass, how it is tuned, right and left hand technique, learning to use your ear and how to read music ect...
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a professional LA bass player and a Berklee College of Music Graduate. Being a Berklee graduate I have my hand and ear on the pulse the best teaching techniques available.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$60/hour for 4 lessons in advance. I have from time to time new student discounts.
