About
Learning a new skill like art can be very vulnerable and therefore fearful. I am able to help students break down their resistence, get over their fears and allow themselves to actually learn a new skill. I firmly believe everyone can learn how to draw and paint, and I developed the "three-step method" to easily show students how it is done.
I love to see the excitement in a student when they learn how to finally see and draw what they are seeing. It is so fun to watch students get excited to see their pictures look like they want them to.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We start with pencil on paper, and I explain and demonstrate the "three-step method" which makes it easy to draw a representational picture. From there we may add painting, or whatever else the student wants to learn.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BFA in fine art from California State University, Sacramento. I also have a lifetime of drawing and painting to hone my own skills, plus years of teaching others to pass on my love of creativity.
