Hi, my name is Coach Gabriel Ortiz. I’ve been playing a game of basketball for 27 years when I first initially started some bullies at my school wouldn’t let me play in the beginning I wasn’t very good but I heard it internal calling, guided me to practice extremely hard by the time I was in eighth grade, I was all Mayor’s tournament team, a high school top 10 player, 2003 BVAL sophomore of the year, received a full ride scholarship to CSUMB played at De Anza college, who was ranked 7th in northern California, then participated and won the tournament for the 2008 UCLA men’s walk on tryout . Since then I’ve been a coach for over 10 years I have the most successful records in Downtown College Prepatory’s history was selected as an inaugural coach and trainer for the Nike Silicon Valley Soldiers, and I’m currently a coach for Golden State Warriors Basketball Academy. I love helping players, discover the best version of themselves, and having a vision for the future, my specialties are from second grade all the way to professional level.
