Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start with the student's need and interest. After knowing what my students want to learn, I offer my own suggestions after I evaluate their goals and skills. Explaining about the elements and methods of drawing is the first step. I ask my students to choose their favorite medium before they begin to create beautiful art with much more appreciation.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have Master of Fine Arts in Art Studios - drawing and painting.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
The price is $50 for 3 hours class
How did you get started teaching?
I have a degree in teaching.
What types of students have you worked with?
All ages - college and university / private
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A small group of artists volunteered to paint the walls of the homes for homeless people in San Jose.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
To experience a few classes with the artist first, then choose the right teacher for a longer time.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Each student might have different questions, but knowing about teacher's experience in art and years of teaching are important. The character of the teachers can be discovered by a few visits :)
