I started taking lessons with Lisandro a little over a year ago. Prior to tennis, I had never played any other sport. I was a mess. Lisandro was patient with me and tailored the lessons to my capabilities. He simplified lessons to really help me understand form, technique, etc. Even though I don’t have much time to practice on my own, I was getting better and better each week. I now love to play and have made such big improvements. I love that I now have a hobby I can share with friends and coworkers. I look forward to my lessons every week. Lisandro is a great instructor for beginners to more seasoned players. He really observes his students and figures out ways for us to improve.
Lessons don’t just include learning to swing, he incorporates drills and fitness exercises to help you play better. It’s a very well rounded, one hour lesson. I wish I took videos of how much I’ve improved.
I highly recommend Lisandro. If you’ve been thinking about picking up tennis, do it! You won’t regret it. Hire Lisandro as your instructor.

He is an excellent instructor. He takes me through different strokes and how to apply those in different situations. He explain the mathematical and technical aspects of different strokes, serves and drop shots and allow time until we get it right. He has a lot of patience and very friendly and supportive. He will play games with me so that when I play matches it will be helpful to apply the tips that he gives to win the game. Overall, he is an excellent instructor and a great coach! He is also, flexible with his hours and accommodate to out schedule.

Cares that my child will improve his play and enjoy the sport of tennis. My son likes going to the lessons as he is improving and having fun. He enjoys teaching and seeing my son get better, rather than focusing on the financial aspect, which is a good characteristic in my opinion. Definitely recommend.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I usually analyze a player's initial playing style and categorize them by skill level. I then ask what playing level they would like to be and which areas they need most help with. I follow that up by asking how much they want to improve and how soon. Finally, I determine if tennis, in whichever aspect of the sport, makes them feel happy.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have played sports all of my life. I started out playing basketball, baseball, football and soccer before getting obsessed with tennis 20 years ago. I find myself watching tennis matches all the time. May it be live or on TV, I'm always watching tennis everyday. I also read self-help books on tennis as well as viewing tennis instruction videos online. I have taught tennis in a local community college assisting tennis coaches while in college and eventually taught tennis to others privately through the years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I typically charge $50 per hour of one-on-one instruction. I charge additional if I have to move the lesson outside of the Carson area.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching after seeing a lack of proper instruction on how to play the sport of tennis. Most instructors who have not played the sport competitively do not know how to articulate the nuances of the sport to students nor do they know how to analyze players’ weaknesses and address them effectively so as to recreate that weakness into as asset. I provide an affordable and simplified way of playing tennis so we spend less time teaching and dedicate more time to applying what was learned and have fun thereafter.
