Logan Blair - College Tennis Player/Coach
About
I want to coach in a way that makes the student/person love the game of tennis. This is a game that gives back to a lot of people and with how much I have come to love this game in my life, I now want to give back and see others succeed in this beautiful game. I will do everything necessary and work just as hard as the player and student to see them succeed in whatever their goals are.
Seeing others succeed and being able to be a small part of the joy that this game and sport brings people is something that I cannot explain. I love being able to help others through the sport of tennis and be able to encourage them and help them to achieve the goals they have set in place.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Evaluation is the first step, then I like to see them in match play or just to see strokes and intuitions they have on the court. I am able then to fix things technically and have a different mental approach so that the specifics that are worked on in practice and private lesson time can be carried out in the competition.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I played 3 years of division 2 tennis in southern california.
I was one of the top juniors in my section coming out of High school and have played in futures and $25k tournaments. I have a lot of experience coaching all levels of players. That includes the Division 1 level, Divison 2 level, beginners, and seasoned vets that have been playing for 40 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$60 an hr, depending on the level of the player it is an intense and enjoyable hour of training and coaching and evaluation of the player(s).
How did you get started teaching?
My coach was a big inspiration for me growing up, he has coached former pros, including currenty Michael Pervolarakis, Sema Pankin, etc., and former professionals including US Open mixed doubles champion Travis Parrot.
My mom was also a big inspiration for me playing the game at a high level and wanting to impact the generations playing now and future generations of the game. She coached at Ohio State and played Division 1 at the University of Iowa.
What types of students have you worked with?
All ranges. From beginners to seniors/adults, Divison 1,2,3 levels, high school players, and nationally and world-ranked junior players.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was out with injury with a broken arm and wrist and I took the number 1 player and former ATP ranked player under my advising and helped him restore his form from being last in the conference at the #1 positions on our college team and conference, to #2 in the entire conference and receive a national ranking in the top 50. There is nothing that makes me feel better than seeing someone else succeed and just being able to be a small part of that.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Pay attention to the values of the coach and teaching pro. I base my teaching on values that will impact everyone not only on the tennis court but in life. I think this is the best way to be a coach and you want a coach that does not only care about you as a player and your development for success but also you as a person.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are your goals? If you can clearly define your goals, then I can help you get there. The work does not come solely from the coach or teacher though, the student and player need to put in the hard yards as well. When there is an understanding between coach and player then the relationship takes off and can only improve his/her game and success and enjoyment on the court.
