About
Hello, How are you? My name is Aaron!
I am a musician, producer, and future music therapists!
I play drum, guitar, piano and sing!
It has been 6 years ever since I started providing drum lessons. My passion gears towards helping out beginners who has some experience in drum or no experience at all.
I have experiences of learning piano from my mom who has been teaching piano over 30 years now. I had to learn piano forcefully when I was young. I honestly learned because I was forced to but never actually enjoyed music as I was learning. I value fun and productive style of lesson the most since I believe students are most engaging when they taste the richness of music. My goal is to make musicians not a drum player.
I am professional at not only teaching how to just play drum but guide my students how to appreciate music through drum.
I have 6 years of teaching drum and have been playing drum over 10+ years. I have taught 30+ kids at my church and about 20 kids privately so far. I had to stop teaching drum in the beginning of 2018 for personaly emergency, but here I am passionately getting back to what I love to do!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I personally believe that working with a new student is very important.
It is first impression and it is a starting point of new relationship.
My typical process for working with a new student is:
1. provide a comfortable environment for the student by introducing my self and I engage to get to know each other.
2. most of the time, I would go over the way I teach such as sharing curriculum.
3. I would also show the new student how I play drum.
4. and lastly, try to have the new student to engage with the instruments.
I focus on providing friendly, comfortable, fun environment for the new student because they are precious and should be treated right!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am working on my music production certification which requires me to be a all around musician that does not only focus on one instrument but be a musician that knows the whole music and create my own master piece.
Also I am studying to be Music Therapist which requires me to be musically talented and knows how to utilize music to heal other people.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My standard pricing system for my lesson:
45 minutes of lesson for 30 dollars per lesson.
There is extra charge if student wants me to come over to their place.
Recommend 2 times or more per week for best progression.
Lesson includes
Basic Theory, Basic Training, Learning a song
Being able to read percussion notation, sheet music and etc.
I always try to make sure that the lesson is very productive and very fun for students as well.
How did you get started teaching?
I first stated teaching drum in 2012.
I have been playing drum in my praise band at my church and Pastor asked me to hold a drum lesson class for new praise team members and others.
I loved interacting with students. thrived to make the lesson productive and fun at the same time and focused on helping them to become a musician.
Ever since then, I started teaching more and more students. I have taught about 30 students with the church problem so far and about 20 students with private lesson so far!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with various students in my career.
I have worked with student as little as 5 years old to 50 years old students.
I have worked with students that are very talented and beginners.
I have worked with students who are eager to learn and students who are forced to learn.
I have worked with students of all age and many different personalities and situations.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
The most recent event would be an event that I hosted at my church.
We have invited local artists, musicians to perform and network with each other.
I have played drum in the praise band, played keyboard for my friend's live singing performance and have sang a song with my friend at the event.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
If I could give you an advice to a student looking to hire a teacher in drum field, I would obviously tell the student to check qualification of the instructor.
Also, I would emphasize on finding a instructor that can help a student to become a musician instead of just a drummer.
Lastly, I would also emphasize that the student must be able to be confident and comfortable around the instructor to bring the most out of a student!
Make sure you are enjoying the music!
