Hello, Patrick Montoya here and I'm your guitar teacher. Here is a little background on myself and LearnGuitare's philosophy:

I'm a fun teacher! I've been teaching guitar to all ages and experience levels for over 35 years...group as well as private.

While I make the lessons fun, I also make them very informative and educational. I am serious and passionate about teaching and I make sure that my students walk away from each lesson saying, "Wow, that was a cool lesson!"

I have been teaching group and private lessons for about 40 years now. I've been a contract teacher for The City Of Chino Hills, The City of Chino, and the City of Claremont for over 20 years, and have also taught for the cities of Diamond Bar, and Walnut in the past.

I started LearnGuitare around 2006 and teach group and private lessons at its studio in Chino, CA.

I have performed since the late 70s in many bands and have met and played with a lot of great musicians. In the 80s, we were part of the scene that rocked the Sunset Strip and all over Southern California. I have performed with my wife in our Pat Benatar tribute band, HeartBreaker which was founded in 1999. We have performed many concerts since then, and have performed in front of thousands! We have performed in Japan for our naval troops, Canada, Arizona, and Las Vegas as well as many California Casinos, Concerts In The Park, and other venues.

LearnGuitare is my passion and I look forward to working with you and helping you reach your musical goals!

I am a middle-aged man that is fulfilling a long time dream to learn how to play the guitar. I am having such a great time learning how to play. Patrick is awesome and patient instructor. Lots of insight and technique while feeling encouraged to make the mistakes and keep learning.

Patrick is an accomplished guitarist and a father. It really shows with his younger students, he listens, explains, demonstrates and answers those difficult questions only an eight year old would ask. His lessons are planned around the Hal Leonard workbooks for younger students that builds on technique and skill level.
Cheap investment for you or your student to learn a discipline that you will have the rest of your life.

    Frequently asked questions

First step would be to find the student's interests and goals. Do they have experience playing? Do they read standard notation? Do they know a few chords?

A lot of questions are asked and then a good lesson program to fit their needs would be in order.

I've been playing guitar since 1974 and have taught since 1980. I started LearnGuitare in 2000 and currently am a contracted teacher for the City Of Chino Hills CA Recreation Division since 2002. I also am contracted with the City of Chino CA Recreation Division as well.

I've studied music theory and business management at Mt. San Antonio College and continue my studies privately.

We meet once a week and tuition is paid on a month to month basis, based on the number of lesson days in a particular month.

    30 minute lessons are $35

    45 minute lessons are $52.50

    60 minute lessons are $70

I started in my high school days with people I knew who wanted to learn to play. They had seen me play and perform and wanted me to teach them.

I taught at their homes and eventually taught in a few local music stores.

After a while, I got my own studio and work from there.

All kinds...all ages and skill levels.

Young beginners , ages 5-8, kids 9-12, teens 13 and up. Adults of all ages.

Give me a call, set up a trial lesson and let's talk!
