About

I am a very patient teacher. I bring out the best in my students. I have been teaching creative activities, 4 years at Michael's and 2 for Orange County. I am trained in the Fine and Expressive Arts.

I enjoy helping my students tap into that creative source within, that they didn't know existed. The creativity they once as a child can come alive again.

Shellise is a patient, and thorough teacher. She explained color combining, how to use different colors to get the desired effect. I have no prior experience painting, yet with her instruction, I was able to paint pictures I’m proud to display in my living room.

Frequently asked questions

I spend 10 - 15 minutes getting to know my clients art background. Durint that conversation, I ask my client what goal they would like to acheive by the end of their lessons? This will help me decide where I should start the lessons.

I have a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Oklahoma State University, where I studied many types of artistic expression.

I am also a Certified Expressive Arts Practitioner, which means I can use various types of artisitic expression to help people with self-discovery, improved self- expression. Art can even help with the healing of some emotions and other things that may have people blocked in their lives.

I charge $30.00 per person in a group setting for 2 hours of instruction.

I charge $80.00 for private lessons for a 2 hour session.

Bonus: students can earn free 30 minutes sessions for everyone they get to enroll in one of my classes.

I started teaching at my Church as a way to give back to others. After the first time, I was hooked and I have been teaching different artistic expressions, off and on for over 10 years.

I have taught kids ages 9 and up. I have taught adults. I have taught at Senior Citizen Centers. And a Ladies Cancer Support Group.

The fondest memory that I have is the night I gave an Expressive Art workshop for the Ladies Cancer Support Group at St. Judes Medical Plaza. It was a very special night of relecting on what is good in life and using painting to relieve stress. It was rewarding to be able to help ladies at this critical time in their lives, because I've been there.
