Coach Spencer was my running back and linebacker coach. He also called our defense. Coach had great techniques and really taught me the game. He made me a leader on both sides of the ball. “Spence loves the kids,” he always said. I’m better as a player and a person because of him.

Coach Spencer is amazing. I met Spence when I played at McLane High School. He was new to our staff. Years prior we had never won a game and when he came he opened my eyes to what being a Running Back and Reciever was all about.
We won some games that year and the following year he coached at Sunnyside. I followed him there and became the starting back. We won league. Spence is the reason football makes sense to me. If you’re reading this... THANK YOU

I played basketball for Coach Spence for 2 years at Terronez Middle School. I played on the Varsity team in both 7th & 8th grade where we came in second place both years. I already played AAU but Spence taught me to play the game the right way, how to hit the open man and to be two steps ahead of my opponent. Because of Spence I got a free ride to Memorial.

I met coach Spencer when he coached me at Granite Ridge. He was my running back and linebacker coach. He taught me the game and I understand how to play. Now I’m at Edison starting at RB and Spencer gave me the edge and understanding that I needed to be successful.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first talk to the student to get an understanding of what they know and what they need to know.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified trainer, high school coach and a high school teacher.
How did you get started teaching?
When I was 18 my younger brother wanted to play football. I signed him up for Pop-Warner and became one of the coaches. I've been coaching ever since (18 years)
What types of students have you worked with?
Pop-Warner thru High School.

Find out WHY the coach is coaching.
