Holistic Drum

Hello!

I ONLY teach hand drums, specifically West African djembe & dununs. Find me through Walnut Creek's or Redwood City's Parks and Rec classes. I have been an aficionado of the West African Drum Community for over 25 years. I have studied with African drum masters such as Mamady Keita, Bolokada Condé, Mamadou Koné and Dibo Camera, among many others. Through my teachers, I have learned and now instruct about the profound impact of the drum on physical and mental health, as well as about the depths of African Culture.

Drumming is proven to be therapeutic, and does wonders for the mind, body and spirit, even more so during these challenging times. We play drums, sing and dance at Holistic Drum's unique African Drum & Rhythm classes, which also cover technique, specific rhythms, stories about Africa, and so much more!

I am a gifted teacher who has been sharing my drumming skills and knowledge with both children and adults for over fifteen years, including private and group lessons, children’s camps and drum circle facilitation. I know how to bring out the best in people and to work with them to fine-tune their abilities. My sunny disposition, patience and motivational skills lead adults and children alike to look forward to every percussion session as a rewarding and fun experience!
