Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I would want to see where their skill level is. Then start building on the basics of footwork. Teaching the proper pivots, then along with ball handling with both hands, and also some proper form shooting to gain a much more consistent jumpshot.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Played at Georgetown University (4 years)
Played professionally overseas for (6 years)
Coached at Kobe Bryant Academy (7 years)
Coached at Jordan Farmer Camp (4years)
Currently Crossroads assistant JV basketball coach (5 years)
What types of students have you worked with?
Ive worked with students from the age range of 7-40 years of age. Ive trained kids and pros.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Continue to practice as much as you can on your own. Watch the game of basketball, study it , take things from players you like and try them out and make it your own and play as much as possible to make mistakes. Enjoy the journey and trust the process of learning a new skill.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
They should figure out what their weaknesses are and how they can improve on those while strengthening their strengths.
