About
My name is Paul. I have previously worked as a Math and Physics Tutor (4+ years experience) with the NASA Scholars Program in Los Angeles, tutoring College and High School students(+test prep;SAT,GED,ASVAB,ACT,CSET,GMAT,MCAT,DAT,GRE).I have assisted Undergraduate(UCLA,USC,SMC,LMU,CSUN,Cal State LB,Lafayette University,Upenn,Brown University,Harvard,University of Texas,University of Miami,Boston University,University of Alabama at Birmingham,University of Colorado,NYU,Vanderbilt,UC-Berkeley,Yale and others)and Graduate(MBA to Phd) students(5+ years experience) in STATISTICS,SPSS/SAS/STATA/PROGRAMMING DATA ANALYSIS for dissertations and Data/Business Consulting for organizations/startups.
I have strong backgrounds in Math and Architecture.I completed 2 and 1/2 years of Architecture at the Los Angeles Institute of Architecture and Design in Fall 2004. In Spring 2004 I was the recipient of a student competition award from the American Institute of Architects at the A-D Museum in West Hollywood. I enrolled at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona-CAL POLY- to complete Majors in Architecture and MATH; and received the Don Leiffer award for excellence in Math at West LA College(spring 2005).
My professional architecture internships(TFA,K-RML,AJLA)Sports background and interactions with my nephews and nieces allowed me to use visual and Verbal ques in lessons.Math and Physics can be fun for you.
I have enjoyed seeing students achieve beyond their expectations. I assisted UCLA Phd students in Neurology with their Statistics courses focusing on data interpretation under multivariate ANOVA for their dissertations study involving Incontinence in seniors. This covered data input and processing through SPSS;and have also assisted Graduate students including MBA(USC,Ucla,UC Berkeley),MPH(Walden University,University of South Florida),MPA,Phd in Nursing,Phd in Industrial Organization,Phd in Education(Pepperdine University) and Phd in Psychology(Santa Barbara Graduate Institute),Phd in Urban Planning,Phd in Policy(USC),Phd in Sociology(Vanderbilt University) with their SPSS/STATA/SAS for data analysis and dissertation Writing.We have also worked with Engineering/Math/Computer Science students with their coursework including Calculus/Differential Equations,Probability/Linear Algebra and computer programming requirements.
In addition I have worked closely with entrepreneurs helping them visualize their business/startup requirements and boosting their performance/efficiency in business operations through strategic planning/implementation of business processes/data solutions.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I engage the students helping them break down complex concepts into simplified material through constant feedback and multiple practice problems targeted at their tests,quizzes and assignments.
I assist in multiple courses including: Math,Stats,Physics,chem,Programming,SAS,SPSS,STATA,
COMPUTER SCIENCE;
TESTPREP;GRE,SAT,GED,CSET,ACT,MCAT,DAT,ASVAB,GMAT;
Economics,Business,Accounting,Finance,Excel,Quick-books,data,MBA,Phd.Dissertations.
For instance,in Understanding Linear Algebra, I have worked extensively with USC, UCI , UCLA and LMU Engineering, Computer Science and Math students develop simple and rigorous methods of formal proofs as applied in matrix and vector space transformations. In Math 245 Linear Algebra, for instance, LMU Engineering students have confirmed the connection between real life problems in Engineering and Business and how these can be described and analyzed through formulation of vectors and Matrices; I have seen students light up as we make transitions from using typical Gauss-Jordan Elimination in finding solutions to viewing multi-dimensional matrices as linear transformations. At the advanced level we have engaged Eigen vectors and Eigen values qualitatively seeing how these explain the future behavior of dynamical systems. It is here that students have started to see the subtle connections between differential equations and linear algebra with linear algebra emerging as a window through which we can view both real and abstract transformations in space.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

My professional architecture internships (TFA Inc., AJLA&A, K-RLM Inc.), sports background and interactions with my nephews and nieces gave me a unique opportunity to use visual and verbal communication queues during one on one tutoring sessions with students. I have employed three dimensional architectural constructs to make abstract mathematical concepts easier to comprehend. Math and Physics can be fun for you and anyone willing to take the first step.
