About
I allow my students to tap into their creative spirit regardless of medium used.
Nothing makes me happier than seeing a artist create what's in their mind into the physical. Even though I am a ceramicist and abstract painter I can teach almost all forms of art with the exception of printing and glassworks.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first like to interview each student to see what type of piece they'd like to make and how much experience they have and if we're a good fit.
Once we start our session depending on where you're at I will help lay ground work on how to proceed and be there every step of the way should you have questions or need to see various techniques. I try not to be too hands on so to speak because art is so personal and I am not crying the piece myself but I am there every step of the way offering tons of welcomed suggestions.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I literally grew up behind the scenes at the Art Institute of Chicago. As a young child art was a huge factor in my life. I was raised by my grandfather who was a professional artist and used to teach at the museum's school in the 1940s so So there were countless hours every week hanging out behind the scenes at the museum in the school I started working with oil paints at the age of two and probably ceramics around the same time. As far as schooling goes I went to Northwestern University for art history, Columbia College Chicago for art and design and photography and The School of The Art Institute of Chicago. And even though I do not have a degree and was a career student I have well over 300 credit hours of college.
