About this pro

In my private lessons, I create a positive environment for my students to be able to fully enjoy the music!  I teach students the correct form of fingers, hands and the use of the arm carefully in order to produce a beautiful tone.  I guide my students to be able to play many repertoires by reading score and by listening to music.

I will support my students to:

  • Foster sensitivity, sensibility, creativity and the ability to express one’s self.
  • Acquire the sense of rhythm and the sense of music.
  • Improve memory
  • Gain confidence, improve self-esteem
  • Acquire the ability to play by ear
  • Improve sight-reading skills

My studio is located in Culver City starting September, 2017.
I will look forward to meeting you!

Ms. Machiko is very patient and is well equipped with musical tools to keep the little ones engaged! She is the first piano teacher who has managed to guide my 5-year-old daughter to the piano in a loving way and taught her something!

We thoroughly enjoyed working with Machiko! Not only is she a very talented and natural musician, but she is also an inspiring and amazing teacher. My 10 yr old daughter always looked forward to lessons with Machiko, she felt supported, encouraged and challenged all at the same time!

Machiko has taught my daughter (age 12) and son (age 10). Both kids have loved their lessons -- Machiko is positive, patient, and reliable.

Machiko is a very talented, friendly and patient piano instructor. She quickly got a sense of my 6 year old daughter’s learning style and worked to motivate her and meet her at her level, making lessons fun yet still challenging. We miss her so much and highly recommend her!

FAQs

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a certified Suzuki piano instructor.

I have B.A. in piano performance and have taught students between the ages of 3 to 60 years old.

How did you get started teaching?

I worked as a preschool teacher before I became a piano teacher and learned a lot by interacting with young children.  Working as a music teacher has been the best thing I have ever experienced in my life.  What a joy it is to create a positive and fun learning environment for my students during their lessons!
