5,6,7,8 learning to dance is really great! I provide dance and yoga lessons as well as choreography commissions for weddings and other events. My favorite dance styles to teach are salsa, bachata, merengue, rumba, chacha, waltz, swing, lindy hop and ballet. I provide lessons for individuals as well as couples and groups. I am certified in Hatha yoga and have experience working with all levels from beginners to advanced movers as well as individuals recovering from injury. Whether your goal is to develop performance level skill, gain strength and flexibility or simply learn a new hobby, I can teach you. I have a degree in dance performance, certifications in Yoga and Pilates, and ballroom dance. I've been performing, competing and teaching dance in San Francisco since 2014. I have taught at San Francisco Youth Ballet Academy, Dance Mission Theater, Myriad Dance and Music Academy, Arthur Murray Dance Centers, Melodic Remedy, Yoga to the People, Peacebank Yoga, and more. I've also taught at churches, football fields and even in people's living rooms! Lessons provided in home are less expensive and offer privacy and comforts. Lessons provided in studio require additional surcharge and are limited in availability.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Our first lesson includes a consultation and assessment. This helps me understand your current level, your goal and what motivates you as both a person and a student of movement. I customize our lessons based on your needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in dance performance, 200-RYT from Yoga to the People, NASM certification, and certifications in ballroom dance.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching as a student. My teachers in college noticed my leadership qualities and asked me to substitute teach and it all began!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students aged between 2-80 years old from ultimate beginners to athlete professionals.

920 Special in San Francisco is my favorite Swing Dance party!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Don't be shy about what you like! When you like something you will learn faster and retain more information. Be picky about your music choices and be open to new ways of learning.
