I am passionate about creating art, and love introducing others to the joy of painting. You will either follow along with me step by step as I create a painting, or, if you are experienced, I’ll help you with you project. Discover recipes for fool-proof color mixing, become familiar with various painting surfaces, brush types, painting mediums, and types of paint. Practice paint application, blending and much more. Demos and hand-out at each class. Materials included.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
A new student will choose an image to paint, either landscape, simple seascape, flower, etc., and I will help him/her draw the image on canvas. Next, the student will paint along with me, as I demonstrate color mixing and techniques for applying the paint and blending colors.

How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching in the San Ramon Valley district in 1997, and then rented studio space and began teaching classes.
