We could not be happier with Coach Fish. In a few lessons, our grandson has shown improvements in his hitting, pitching and fielding. His confidence in his ability has improved. Coach works on both the physical and mental aspects of the game. He enjoys working with Coach and looks forward to his lessons. We recommend him highly.

    Great coach

The first step I learned is self discipline. Learning how to catch the ball by positioning my body correctly so I could handle the throw to any position in the field as well in the in filed. There is a lot more to say I will have to write a complete journal.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

The 1st initial meeting is a phone interview with the athlete & parent/s to discuss the areas of struggle.

The 2nd meeting is at a local park or facility for instruction.

Players should be prepared to work hard & properly equipped for instruction. (Turf's, & shorts are ok baseball pants are not necessary) Cleats & a cup are requried if we are doing infiled work.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

1.) Many years of playing baseball.

2.) 2 years of college baseball.

3.) I have recieved personal instruction from professionals and some of the most respected coaches in the game.

3.) Been coaching youth for the last 10-15 years.

4.) Former Hitting coach at Calvary Chapel Downey High School

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

- $40 for 1hr of training

- 25% off for siblings ($30)

- Cash & Debit Card (Via Square)

How did you get started teaching?

I’ve helped a lot of High School kids here and there but mainly started coaching my own kids and their teams. One day I was encouraged by a parent that I should start giving private instruction becacuse she felt I was an excellent coach. Many other parents confirmed with her advice and TBT was born.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have coached kids from T-Ball - High School at every skill level from beginners to Travel Ball kids to High School.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

1.) USA Baseball National Open

Great opportunity to be selected to play for Team USA at the 12U National Team Trials.

Get instruction and interaction with national team coaches.

And compete internatoinally for Team USA

2.) USA Baseball Trailblazer Series

In 2017, USA Baseball and Major League Baseball launched a new baseball tournament for girls, held in the greater Los Angeles area, and built around Jackie Robinson Day Weekend. In 2018, approximately 100 girls will, once again, have an unprecedented opportunity to participate in the Trailblazer Series.

3.) USA Baseball Breakthrough Series

The Breakthrough Series, established in 2008, is a joint effort on behalf of USA Baseball and Major League Baseball. This unique program focuses on developing the player on and off the field through seminars, mentorship, gameplay, scout evaluations, video coverage, and the highest level of instruction all while providing a platform for the players to perform for scouts and collegiate coaches. The events are completely cost free with USAB covering expenses for the players.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Look for someone who is willing to be patient & not just focus on the physical part of the game but also the mental side. Most coaches don’t teach that anymore. Also look for someone who isn’t distracted by their phone. Sadly I’ve seen many guys on their phones and not focusing on the athletes.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What’s your short term goal?

What's your long term goal?

What’s your biggest struggle?

Are you willing to work hard & be teachable?

How much do you love the game? 1-10
