Treble Music Lessons

Treble Music Lessons

About

I work with my student based on their interests, goals, and needs. I strive to provide each student with authentic artistry, self-expression, a creative and curious mindset, and my passion for music by passing on the knowledge I have gained from my teachers over the years as a student. I have taught students ranging from middle school levels, to highschool students. My goal is to inspire and motivate students to find their voice, especially those in minority groups, and use music as a way of healing, learning, discovery, and pass on that knowledge to their own communities.

I enjoy teaching privately because it allows me to inspire and connect with the future generation of musicians. I enjoy watching my students grow into confident, knowledgable, and mature musicians who have an understanding of not only the music itself but the life-long lessons they will hold due to studying with me. Being a private instructor is a two-way street, not only do I teach my students, but I learn from them as well. This allows us to foster a safe place of growth, honesty, curiosity, respect, and trust.

Frequently asked questions

I set personalized goals for each student based on their assessment of their level of playing. I will spend a portion of our first lesson creating an individualized lesson plan to set and meet the student's goals as well as interests.

I have played the flute for well over 6 years and have studied privately with teachers such as Stefani Silver, and Boglarka Kiss. I am now transitioning to my new private teacher, Darrin Thaves at CSULB where I will work towards my Bachelor's degree in Music Education.

I offer one-time 30-minute trail lessons via Skype for first-time students who wish to study with me. My starting price range for single-weekly lessons is $20-$35 depending on the distance traveled to the student's home or lessons online. I also offer bulk lesson prices - for a bulk lesson of two weeks it can range from $40-$60, or for a bulk lesson of four weeks it would range from $80-$200 depending if the student opts for in-person lessons, online lessons, or hybrid lessons (mix of in-person and online). Each lesson is one hour long.

I mainly started teaching while I was volunteering at my church music ministry, where after 5 years of playing for services I became the choir director for our youth choir which lasted for about 2 years, roughly. I then started teaching the flute sections at my former middle school and high school for a few months.

I have mainly worked with middle school kids, high school teens, and young adults.

One recent event that I am most fond of has been when I started my journey as a puppy raiser for Mobility Service Dog-West Coast Project. This is such a fond moment for me because it has opened a door in my life to be able to give back to the disabled community. Being able to raise and train puppies that will help them take back their life and independence by providing them with FUNctional living has brought me much joy and dedication to seeing other live happy, fulfilling and vibrant lives.

My advice for any student looking to hire a teacher would be to find a teacher that they feel comfortable with on an academic level as well as a personal level. Make sure you find the teacher's philosophy and style of teaching that are right for you. A teacher who challenges their students yet is caring is always a teacher who is worth learning from.
