Over 30 years of experience, drawing painting mural work, oil painting. I teach painting classes in person but because of the pandemic I've been able to do this via zoom for group classes; I have experience with both adults and young teens. In person, 2hour class is $43 which includes instruction,use of paints, use of brushes and my travel time. You are not charged for 30 min of total set up and clean up time. Discounts to $37/pp if there is a group 3 or larger.

Please be mindful of your inquiry and above charges. When you make an inquiry, I get charged a fee via lessons. I only engage with serious students that are willing to respond back.

    I took an online class from Karen and it was a great experience. Teaching art remotely isnt an easy feat, but she made it fun! If you want a way to expand your art experience this is the way to do it! We made a seascape, and I loved how mine turned out! Far different than the UGLY pictures that a lot of the wine and paint type of classes teach, this is a picture youd be proud to hang in your home!

    My 13 year old daughter attended a painting class last weekend via Zoom. As a beginner painter, she knew she was in for a challenge. However, Karen made it a smooth experience by specifying the colors and supplies needed beforehand. She had multiple cameras set up that clearly focused on her canvas and palette as needed. Moreover, she was very patient in demonstrating how to blend the colors needed to paint water and waves. My daughter was very surprised at how well her painting turned out.
    Overall, it was a very relaxing class for my daughter, especially since the subject (water and waves) was so calming. A fun activity, especially when youre trying to keep the kids entertained at home during a pandemic!

She is knowledgeable and experienced, a charismatic and encouraging teacher, and she makes seemingly complex art theories and techniques easy to understand and do.     Karen has a creative spirit that is unlike others. She is very friendly with an open mind to try different and unique mediums. I came to her to create a Soul Collage, which as an artist myself was unlike anything I have ever created.     Depends on the medium but I do a hands on approach and take time to share tips and techniques 

    I have taken mostly bfa art classes throughout my entire adult life while practicing pharmacy.  I would say I'm self taught.  Still managed to sell a lot of my work in Sf shows , a gallery in New York, and complete many commissioned murals 

    Base rate is $40/hour per student
