Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first assess the students level so that I can assign them the proper method book. I think it's important to use a method book to keep the lessons organized. The other part of the lesson is doing specifically what the student wants to do which is typically learn a song or specific technique
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been teaching for nearly 30 years and have had students of all ages. I have been particularly successful in getting young kids to play very well, kids as young as four years old! I took a lot of music education classes as a younger man at American River College including music theory and composition.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Student pays $100 at the beginning of the month which covers all of the lessons for the month, one less than a week, lessons are half hour in length
How did you get started teaching?
My father was a music teacher and he got me started teaching music with him out of our home as a teenager.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught students of all ages and I teach all styles of guitar.
