About
I am a recent college graduate with a degree in Material Science and Engineering, so my classroom experience is quite fresh in mind. I am currently working as a Process Engineer at Lam Research, and prior to this employment, I worked as a paid Research Assistant at San Jose State, giving me both academic and corporate experience. I have a deep passion for learning and teaching and plan to pursue a Masters in Material Science followed by a Degree in Education. In high school, I struggled with Math and Chemistry, and it was not until my freshman year of college I worked with a tutor that changed my perspective on the subjects and even ended up influencing my choice in area of study, for which I am extremely grateful. I would like to be given the opportunity to share this process with other students who struggled like I did, and if not ignite a passion for Math and Chemistry, at least ensure their success in their courses.
Of course, I enjoy the moment a student is able to solve a problem with which they previously struggled, but even more so I deeply enjoy the moment that the student corrects me on a mistake made by ME. I believe that one does not truly understand a subject until they are able to teach it to someone else, so when I see a student catch a mistake small or large (a rare occurrence if I can help it), I know that the student is well on the way to mastering the subject and potentially finding joy in it!
