Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I would offer one free lesson and let them decide if they want me to continue tutoring the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor's degree in Engineering. I have 5+ years experience in tutoring high school to college level math. I have been through all the ACT/SAT math exams so I know what is the important skill to have.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I so not have the pricing system set. I am willing to negotiate it as well.
How did you get started teaching?
It was my part time job during college. I really enjoyed tutoring since I could see my students gradually improve in math.
What types of students have you worked with?
High school/ college students
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would say I have a lot of useful skills that can be used during timed exams, which will be useful for SAT/ACT and also in college. I can also help to actually "understand" math instead of "memorizing" the concepts.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What they need help with, what skills they would like to get, what their goal is by getting tutored by me.
