I look for emotion in my frames be it landscape, portraiture, event or wildlife. Images standout based on the emotional impact. I augment my in camera frames to extract the maximum with post processing.
Teach every aspect of making an image from the knowledge of the subject to the post processing that will make the image interesting but not doctored.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Discuss the expectations and then prepare a plan with the student. I often free lead trips locally and the student is more than welcome to join and learn in the field.
