I love working with colors and coming up with new and creative ideas. I enjoy seeing students discover their own talent and abilities. Giving them permission to explore and take risks in creating art is a high honor.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I talk with the student to find out about their goals and interests. I then observe their ability level and to see how comfortable they are in creating and using various artistic techniques and strategies. I then offer a variety of activities using different mediums and materials. I want to encourage a sense of play and exploration in art. By providing a safe environment for risk taking the student will be more willing to focus on the art rather than feelings of concern or insecurity.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 120 college units in education, science, and art. I have worked in the public schools for over 23 years with excellent evaluations. I have designed children's programs for zoos, museums, and theme parks. Along with publishing curriculum I was the founding principal of an art based elementary school. Currently I am designing and showing my own work in museums and galleries.
