About
To teach flying, and the theory that goes along with it, you have to be part teacher and part psychologist. Over the years I've refined both skills. I adapt to my students' way of learning, and accommodate their needs any way I can, even by teaching on line when the student cannot meet with me. I fly both airplanes and helicopters, and am a certified Light Sport Trike instructor as well.
I'm a General Aviation business consultant. My focus is mainly flight training schools & academies, charter operations, fixed base operations, aircraft sales, management, and manufacturing. You can look for me on Linkedin.com for more information. I hope to meet you soon.
I'm a flight instructor mainly out of love for the art. I love teaching, and the biggest kick I get out of it, is seeing my teaching come together when my student solos for the first time.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The student connects with me by phone, text, or email. We meet, and we decide if we're a good fit.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
30 years being a pilot. 20 years of being an instructor. 6 FAA licenses and ratings. 20 years experience as an Aviation industry consultant.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My standard instruction fee is $90 an hour. Aircraft rental, and other costs are paid by the student directly to the supplier. I do not ask for any deposits. You pay as you go with me. This leaves you the freedom to manage your budget and time without having to take out loans. If you want to take out a student loan though, let me know, and I will arrange it for you.
How did you get started teaching?
I was an owner and managing partner of a big flight school in Southern California for eight years.
What types of students have you worked with?
From all over the world. From the very young to some in their 70's
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find your personal fit. 80% of your training will be influenced by how you and your instructor fit together.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What makes aircraft fly is not just LIFT. First and foremost it's MONEY! Make sure you have a well thought out budget of time and money before you start. Starting a flight course, and not being able to see it through to the end, is a heart breaking waste of money and time. Ask yourself before starting this endevour if you have the time and freedom to finish the course, and will the amount of money at your disposal be available and ready.
