About
Welcome! My teaching focuses on my student's strengths and reasons for learning. I ensure that students are taught from a personalized curriculum that brings them closer to their goals while emphasizing the music fundamentals that will prepare and enrich them with a life time of skills. I am passionate about piano and engaging any curious or dedicated student.
I have over 30 years of piano knowledge. I started playing piano when I was 4 years old, participating in yearly performances, exams and international competitions. I have been teaching piano for 13 years with the last three years having a thriving online studio where I teach students all over the world. My strongest skills have always been patience and adaptivity, understanding that each student learns in different ways and has different needs and strengths. With a great understanding of performance, theory and how each student’s brain learns differently, I can have you/your child playing in no time!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I usually chat with parents (or students if older) over the phone or over video chat for a first conversation to see if it will be a good fit and make sure the student has everything they will need for lessons. We will then select a time and date to start lessons and go from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors of Music with a concentration in Piano Performance, am a Board-Certified Music Therapist, am finishing my Masters in Music Therapy, and am a member of Music Teachers Association of California. I have been playing piano for 27 years and have been teaching for 10 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching in my undergrad program during a pedagogy class, but found I loved teaching and passing on my passion of music to students of my own so much that I joined a studio in San Jose, CA. and have been teaching both part of that studio and privately ever since.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with all ages of students, as young as 4 years old and as seasoned as adults in their 80's. All ages are welcome. I have taught students with a range of abilities and disabilities. We work together to find what works best for each individual student.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are you goals?, Are you looking for lessons for pure enjoyment or for accademic purposes as well?, What are some of your favorite songs?, What kind of music do you enjoy?
