About

Have you ever asked yourself if you can also sing freely, while in control of your voice, making that desired tone? If you want to improve your singing in a fun relaxed environment, then you’re in the right place!

Hi! I'm Rana! I’m a professional singer in Los Angeles.

I have a masters degree in vocal performances, I am also a certified CCM teacher with specialty in singing contemporary music.

Studying classical music and singing opera gave me a solid foundation in vocal techniques and my performance experience as a rock singer made me a crossover singer/teacher. I teach multiple genres: from Classical Music and Opera, to Pop, Musical Theatre, R&B and Rock.

Here is a summary of the topics that I cover during my lessons:

-Proper posture, breathing and exercises

-Singing in tune, following the rhythm and tempo

-Concept of chest, head voice and mix voice

-Mastering your high range, falsetto, belt

-Singing riffs, and runs, harmonizing and improvisation

-Musical phrasing, musicality, projection

-Helping you find your unique, authentic voice

-Stage presence, building confidence against stage freight

- Preparing students for their recitals, auditions and competitions

-Online recitals twice a year

Whether you just started to sing for the first time, or have the experience, or even if you want to prepare a song for a special occasion, I can help you by creating a customized lesson plan in the best way that suits your goals!

I have a great passion for teaching and sharing my knowledge. Let’s meet and make music together!

Rana is very kind and supportive. I was very nervous about singing in front of a new person but she made me feel very comfortable. She’s very knowledgeable and patient. She’s also very technical which is what I need.

    Frequently asked questions

During our first session, I will talk to you about proper breathing, the muscles engaged, and generally our body as the instrument. Next I warm up your voice with vocal exercises that will help with expanding the range and building your techniques. Then you can sing something you like for me so I can hear your voice and find out your vocal range. We will then talk about your favorite songs/artists and the styles you are interested at, so I can suggest songs that will work on your range and improve your techniques and of course set up a lesson plan based on that.
.I started playing flute and piano as a kid. I got my degree in Instrumental Music (flute) from Rahil Conservatory in Tehran, where I played as a professional flutist in multiple orchestras and ensembles. Meanwhile I began my study of singing and performing in choirs. After moving to United States, I studied voice at Pasadena City College and later I received my masters degree in Vocal Performances from California State University, Northridge. I am also a certified CCM teacher from Shenandoah Conservatory where I was trained by some of the best coaches of the industry.
I offer 30 minutes, 45 minutes and one hour lessons, which have different price ranges. I also offer monthly packages with a reduced rate. Come take a free trial lesson with me and we can discuss these rates!
One of the main reasons that made me love teaching was having encouraging teachers all throughout my studies, they planted a motivation for learning new materials in me from a young age and as I got older and got better at it, I realized knowledge is a gift that is never to be kept by one person and has to be shared with others. My first teaching experience was at French Embassy School in Tehran at 2012, as a group music teacher.
As a vocal coach I have been teaching for the past 8 years; I have the experience of teaching kids and adults, with a wide range of musical backgrounds. I teach multiple genres: from Classical Music and Opera, to Pop, Musical Theatre, R&B and Rock.
Sometimes I prepare students for their upcoming recitals, auditions and competitions. Recently one of my students got into a very popular music program in Paris which was very rewarding for me as a teacher to help them approach their goals.
I would suggest they try a trial lesson before signing up for lessons with a teacher to make sure they are a good fit for them. It is also very important to take lessons from certified teachers who have experience teaching voice lessons to students of their age, and especially in their favorite style because different genres require different techniques.
It is really helpful if students know what style they would like to sing, and if they are not sure yet, the teacher can help them with learning about different styles. It is also helpful knowing what goals the students have in long term as the teacher can set up a plan based on their expectations that is beneficial for the students.
