Behind The Wheel Driving School

We teach according to each students unique needs. Typically, we will start by teaching students how to control the vehicle by making safe turns. We start in a quiet residential area and will only proceed to busier areas once the student is driving safe enough to do so. All of our vehicles are newer models that are equiped with a dual gas and brake pedal so that the instructor can take full control of the vehicle in order to keep you safe. We will continue to practice additional driving skills as you improve.

All of our instructors are highly trained and have had extensive background checks.

Behind the Wheel Driving School was established in 1994 by the legendary driving instructor, Frank Zock. Since then, we have been family-owned and operated in Manhattan Beach in the same location. We are fully licensed (#4471), bonded and insured. Our licensing was approved through the California Department of Motor Vehicles.

We work with teens, adults and seniors. We teach brand new drivers, those that just need a brush up and others who have arrived with driving experience from another country.
