What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We will walk through their Makeup Artistry Goals and come up with the best plan of action by creating a roadmap for success. We will go over business practices, proper application of makeup, skin care, how to do a consultation and end with testing their skills and knowledge.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been a Makeup Artist for almost 10 years. I graduated GlamLab Studios and Michael Vincent Academy before starting my company in 2018
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Basic lessons start off $65 an hour to more intense training for $200 a week for 6 weeks with an extra fee for materials and kit
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching in 2018 when I was working at an event where the staff was short and I stepped in to assist.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with students who had no knowledge of how to match makeup to students who knew how to match makeup but didn't know the many avenues they could go once they got certified.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I livestream for my current employer 2-3 times a week. We discuss the benefits of the ingredients in our products on the skin, Q & A with online customers, demos and educational content.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure that you find a teacher that works with you side by side and provides you the proper training and follows up with to see if they can help you with booking gigs
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
The best way that they learn and if their learning style is something their teacher can handle, any accomodations that need to be made and if the have expertise in the specific training they're looking for.
