What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I teach basic forms, then Shadow, then complex forms and complex shadows. Perspective, vanishing point, proportions: Then I teach color and mixing them from scratch without turning them to MUD.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Hight School Art, College level Art Appreciation, Travel, Actual Works on my page will give you a good feel for my level of talent and the fact that we are an ancient French line of Rulers helps to keep the perspective of teacher student at appropriate distance.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$10.00 per lesson Until Color mixing: then $15.00/lesson after Color mixing we move onto Form & Compositon horizons, and foreground colorations to enhanse perspective.
How did you get started teaching?
Never taught before you can see my results on line.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Traveling to the Louvre 2013 to see the Mona Lisa first hand...it had been cleaned so the sky was much more blue than I had seen photo's of before cleaning...Travel to Wales to see Carew Castle where my 8th great grandfather grew up and see the Land where Sir John Perrot's daughter my 8th ggmother was raised./
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look at the work of the teacher...if you like it take lessons if not skip it and find a style you want to emulate.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
How much time do they have to practice the shapes and forms of drawing before they attempt to capture an image in their mind and translate it through their arms and hand to paper. It takes at least 2 hrs a day to start. The cost of paper, pencils, and a clutter free environment set aside only for their art is also important where they can leave things and not have them disturbed.
