About

Tony Vasaturo is a world-renowned Basketball Coach and Player Development Specialist. With 6 years of collegiate coaching experience (UConn and UCF) and over thousands of athletes trained, he is an expert at what it takes to get his clients to the next level.

Tony quickly fell in love with directly working with players, studying the game, and working relentlessly to create and coach great players and individuals. In doing so, he now conducts NBA Pre-Draft for Octagon Basketball in Irvine, CA. Developing players for the next level is an area of expertise for Tony. He has helped players such as Dyson Daniels (8th overall to New Orleans Pelicans), Luke Travers (56th overall to Cleveland Caveliers), Matt Mitchell (SIG Strasbourg), Jordan Usher (Besiktas) and more achieve their dreams of playing at the professional level.

While developing and working with players and teams, Tony excels in areas such as film breakdown of your game and offensive actions, decision making and in-game reads, shot breakdown, game IQ, playing without/off the ball, and more. His skill development philosophies are predicated on trends in todays game while focusing on footwork, balance, taking advantage of angles, passing, and more.

Tony is always finding new and innovative ways to help athletes take their games to new heights, which led him to partner with Jordan Lawley Basketball. Together they have trained thousands of amateur athletes as well as some of the top basketball players in the world. Carmelo Anthony, Klay Thompson, Zach LaVine, Julius Randle, Josh Giddey, Dyson Daniels, CJ McCollum, Alex Caruso, Montrezl Harrell, Michael Carter-Williams; and many other players have entrusted their skill development with Tony and Jordan.

Tony has also worked alongside and coached under some of the greatest minds within the game including Kevin Ollie, Donnie Jones, Brendan Suhr, Kevin Eastman, Raphael Chillious, Cody Topper, and others. Along his climb to working with high level athletes, Tony spent 10 summers working and administering camps around the world reaching thousands of athletes to help refine his coaching philosophies, teaching skills, public speaking abilities, and his leadership skills.

Tony also has his Masters Degree in Sports & Exercise Science from the University of Central Florida to help continue to understand his athletes and give them added value beyond the court.

    Frequently asked questions

Our initial session will be an assessment style workout where you go through some of the same drills as my NBA clients to see where you are with your baseline assets on the floor. Once I can assess your strengths and areas of growth, we will sit down and build out a customized plan to fit your goals and needs.

I have coached 6 years of Division 1 Men's Basketball at UConn and UCF, I have worked with thousands of amatuer clients all over the world, and I run a full-scale training and consulting business where NBA and other professional atheltes entrust me to develop their skills. I know what it takes to get you to the next level, as I have seen or worked at each level of basketball.

My private session rate is $200, but packages for long-term clients are available.

All ages from 6 year olds to professional athletes.

It should be based off of how serious you are about your development as well as a connection with the teacher. You have to constantly be learning and stretched outside of your comfort zone, all while enjoying your process.

What short-term or long-term basketball goals do I have?

How committed am I to working towards my school and basketball goals?

Can this coach get me to the level that I aspire to be at?
