We provide students with the latest updates as to Traffic Laws.

We will work with students tohelp them with understanding Traffic Laws and how they apply to their driving safety needs.

If we don't have the answer immediately or a extra time is needed to explain it the student will receive their answer while in class or after reviewing material and providing a written response to them.

I recently retired from the Law Enforcement Profession after 36 years of service.

I have worked as a Traffic School Instructor for since September 1986 with the Academy of Defensive Driving, and I have been the Operator for the School since 2005.

Prior to my beginning my teaching Traffic Safety School, I was a Student. I too have been to traffic school -both times for speeding and both times were after I began my career in Law Enforcement.

 My first time was for a ticket written to me by a Police Officer from my own department. I share this experience with students, to show them we all make mistakes.

We have the standard Classroom location - which we currently offer out of our 2 AODD Offices. Our Main Office is located in San Juan Capistrano off of Ortega Highway, and our Secondary Office is located in Newport Beach, near the John Wayne Airport.

We also have offered since 2013 - an On-Line Traffic Safety Class.

Both of our classes are Approved by the State of California Department of Motor Vehicles.

I received my start working for AODD when as a young police officer, I attended an Advanced Officers Training Course that dealt with police driving at the Orange County Fair Grounds.

A couple of years later, I started teaching classes for them traveling to various locations throughout Orange County. After awhile, I began teaching classes throughout Southern California.

I have instructed over 100,000 Students and enjoy sharing my knowledge with them.

I also am registered as a Boy Scout Merit Badge Counselor for Traffic Safety

I have worked with a large variety of students. I have had students age 90 and students who have just begun their driving career at 16 years old.

Each student and generation brings their own uniquness to the classes we teach, but at the end of the day they have a healthy respect for each other and the understanding about how they effect each other on the road.

In the past 2 years, I have received many letters sent to the office in San Juan Capistrano. One came from a mother of student that said "you made such a huge impact on my child's driving, I just wanted to thank you for the time and effort you took to explain safety."

Another letter came from an older driver, who received a ticket out of Georgia, when he went to renew his California Drivers License he found that he had a hold on his license due to this ticket. We provided him with the instruction needed and he was able to provide the Court in Georgia with proof and have his driving privilege restored.

While all instructors and schools offer their own unique styles you can not go wrong with a school that has a proven record.

Look at the School reputation and how long they have been offering courses in this area. Cost should not be the only reason for choosing a school. Academy of Defensive Driving (AODD) has this proven reputation we have been in the Traffic safety business since 1978.

Talk with friends who may  have taken a course and now with all the on-line postings - check social media for reviews.

Students need to come to a class with an open mind, willing to learn and not any pre-conceived idea that Traffic School is a punishment.

Be willing to participate and share their driving experience. We all learn from each other.
