Ares Tactical Firearms LLC
About
I have a passion for teaching people to protect themselves. As a retired police sergeant I dedicated my life to public service. Teaching firearms safety and training to families is very fullfilling. I have taken my life experiences in law enforcement and culminated them into training programs to teach real life saving skills through the safe use of firearms.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first process of firearm safety is to learn a series of safety rules that you the student will carry throughout your life. Then we move on to learning how firearms and ammunition work. Then we focus on the basic fundamentals for shooting. Next, we venture to the range and begin shooting all while having a great time in a calm, relaxed, and non-intimidating environment.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a law enforcement trainer for over 25 years. I served as a Field Training Officer where I trained and taught newly hired officers how to work in the field as a police officer. As a sergeant I ran the Field Training program and trained the Field Training Officers on how to teach new officers. I also served as the President of the Orange County Training Managers Association where we oversaw the police training for 31 cities in Orange County, Ca. For self defense matters I have trained in martial arts and self defense system for over 40 years. I am a Krav Maga instructor and certified Krav Maga Law Enforcement instructor.
I have a masters degree and a bachelors degree from two universities and I have taught criminal justice at two private universities.
I am a NRA certified Pistol instructor, NRA Range Safety Officer, and a NRA Personal Protection Inside the Home Insructor. Also I am a competitive shooter in the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA), a IDPA Safety Officer, and I compete also in the United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA).
My strongest attribute as a teacher and instructor is the high volume of training I attend as a student. I am constantly attending courses myself to keep me sharp, validate concepts and learn new skills for me to bring to my students. I believe the best teachers are the best students. Unlike many instructors I practice what I preach.
