Hello, my name is Marjorie Pezzoli, Silk Painting is my passion! I have all the supplies necessary to create a beautiful piece of wearable art. Painting on silk is like painting on air, there is no resistance to the brush. The way the colors flow & mix on the fabric is magical & has kept me intrigued for over 25 years. It is very similar to watercolor but has its own quirks. I love that you can create wearable art or frame it to hang.

I have developed a simple texture technique that requires no drawing skills that can be completed in about an hour & 1⁄2, or less. I have other classes that are more involved, “More Fun with Color” & “How can You Resist?”

I also enjoy teaching children’s art classes. Learning basic drawing, shading, & composition skills using pencil, pastels, & paint, of course I include in silk painting with my kid’s classes! FYI - Adults enjoy these classes too, fun for a Friend's Night Out to try something new!

So, try something new & enjoy a fun time of playing with color whether on silk, paper or canvas.

I love sharing the joy of color & getting lost in the moment of creativity. Art is another way to communicate your thought & ideas.

My silks have been featured in 2 books by Jan Janas & Diane Tuckman, “The Best of Silk Painting”, published 1995 & “The Fine Art of Painting on Silk”, published 2018. I received my Associates Degree in Graphic Art & Communication in 1982 & my Teaching Artist Certificate in 2016.

I currently teach Sewing & Fabric painting at St. Madeleine’s Sophie’s Center Gallery every Thursday to Adults with developmental disabilites. Their works of art are sold in the Sophie’s Gallery.
