Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I ask if there are any questions about the previous lesson. Then I proceed with an overall check into homework questions or tests and then continue with the new concepts and problems.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an Electrical Engineer who enjoys doing math and teaching children for over 12 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $50.00 an hour during the week and on weekends charge charge $80.00.
How did you get started teaching?
I was a stay at home mom who loves children and I signed up for helping and aiding at my children's school.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with disabled and regular students ages from 1st grade to 12th.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently I have had students that are disabled and cannot understand the work. I would selectively present it in different ways so that they would understand how to resolve the problem. Another great result was when then a student was unable to understand anything because something was wrong. I sensed it and I was able to talk it out with her and immediately to the parents.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Check if the teacher is concerned and able to help her out in the math class addressed. Also if there are many sample problems to practice to learn the concept.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Can a teacher be reached in case there is a problem in math before their session? How do I complete steps in order to complete a problem? Can I understand the concept well when the teacher explains it?
