Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Having taught at the college level for 7 years, I am capable of working in group settings or one-on-one. I like to interview each student or group prior to beginning their course so that I can determine his or her strengths and weakenesses, and where they personally would like to grow their skill.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
- Working with 23 brands across 70 accounts, growing their online presence, gaining more customers, and retaining a better portion of their already-existing customer base.
- Consulting 50+ brands/businesses on their social media strategies.
- Design and launch of over 120 viral campaigns for various outlets (details avail. upon request).
- Have captured over 4,000 stylized head shots for various clientele in a ten-year period.
- Complete start-to-finish solution for any visual media assignment in Photography, Video Production, advertorial design & Branding. From planning to execution, my background in managing all aspects of creative production means the client does not have to utilize multiple resources for one project.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I try and cater my pricing to meat many budgets, and I offer both individual rates as well as group (3+) rates. When working with groups, every additional head brings the total per-person cost down.
How did you get started teaching?
I graduated college with my BS in Advertising in 2010, and immediately began teaching the following winter at Mount San Jacinto college & UCSDX. I've been teaching two semesters a year since, only taking a brief hiatus when I took on the role of Creative Director at a national direct-to-consumer business.
What types of students have you worked with?
College-level, ranging from 17 to 75. I've worked with both special needs and traditional-learning students, and am comfortable with both.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Just owning a DSLR and knowing how to use it does not necessarily make for a good instructor. Make sure whoever you work with is capable of catering their course to YOUR needs, not the other way around.
